The writing artist named Kassab has designed handlettered signs in Arabic and sometimes bilingual all across the Beirut quarters of Gemmayze, Mar Mikhael and Rmeil. While newly opened fancy cafes in these areas feature handlettering as well as part of the international trend, signs like the one here presented are part of the older tradition of calligraphic signs for shops and alike. Blue and red seem to be Kassab's signature colours.
