In the beginning of December, many children start to open up their Advent calendar door by door. This custom to make waiting for presents, family meetings, and glittery lights more bearable, has found its way into Muslim consumption culture. While Ramadan calendars made an appearance a little while ago, a unicorn model seems quite surprising. Unicorns have become heavily coopted by companies 2016/17 while they served originally as a symbol for utopian societal ideas in queer and leftist circles.
