In Turkey, the "nazar boncuğu", the blue eye, believed to help ward off the "evil eye", can be found on a big variety of everyday objects such as chewing gum,  signs, or bags. In Morocco  the Hand Symbol "al-kaff" (also called "al-khamsa", the five) seems to be of comparable dispersion while I have not seen the blue eye ("al`ayn") yet at all. Around the mediterranean Hand as well as eye can be found.
